I hate packing

Have I mentioned to you that I hate packing? Well. I do. Most fervently and passionately.

In a perfect world, I think that a packing job should be conducted RIGHT before you leave for your trip. In this way, there is no need to keep things out (like your toothbrush etc) before you need them. You could just put everything you are going to need into your bags, zip them up, and then go. Perfect!

In other news: I AM LEAVING CALGARY IN 9 DAYS!!!!!!!!!! ahhhhHHHH!!!!

back to the topic (complaint) at hand.. I am not only faced with packing for a 4 month trip to barcelona as well as other as-yet-undetermined stops in Europe (ie Norway)... but I also need to pack up whatever I don't take with me and move out of my apartment! *sigh*

Thinking more about this, I probably don't like packing because I am so afraid of leaving something behind that I will need. I know, I know, toothbrushes and the like can be obtained almost anywhere; but what about that favourite green sweater of mine that I didn't take but now dearly wish I had because I'm cold? It is these kinds of considerations that I must think about. So I think, then I get worried, then I clam up, and the packing job ends up in a flurry of stressfull activity at the eleventh hour.

Really, there's nothing to complain about. I have one week left to work, I have almost completed my long shopping list of necessaries and things TO DO, and I am just about to sit down and sew a canadian flag on my backpack.

It still hasn't really sunken in that I am leaving.. but I imagine that it will hit me with full force once I'm somewhere over the Atlantic at 27,000 feet.

Don't forget to put all your liquids in your checked baggage, as anything else will make you a terrorist for sure.
Now, whether the no-liquid rule applies to the heap-of-50%-water that is the human body, I'm not so sure, but you should probably hand yourself over at the check-in counter, just to be safe.

On the positive side, though, remember that flying has never been so safe (even if that's mostly because no one is flying anymore)

indeed Johan!! What's next?? banning books? BURNING books?

Soon they'll be telling us that we are not allowed to bring anything on the plane; and that the only entertainment allowed will be state-sponsored propaganda/brainwashing television.

Even this, however, will not stop me from flying.. in this case, I'm more interested in the destination, rather than the journey.
