Halloween!

Spain dosn't really participate in Halloween, but us crazy Canadians had a costume party none-the-less! I dressed up as Ronaldinho, FC Barcelona's famous superstar footballer. He is identifyable by his golden cleats, red headband, and greasy long hair. Elyse has posted a whole group of photos from that evening.. Some of the costumes were spectacular!! Below is a picture of me and my roomates: Ronaldinho (me), spanish male dog, including testicles (Elyse), the fly (Natalia) and airline stewardess (Sheena)

We started at an apartment-party, and then moved to a bar before the neighbours complained about the noise. We sure got some strange looks from people as we were walking in the streets! I kicked my soccer ball down the narrow gothic streets all night. Pretty much every stranger I met was willing to kick the ball around and I made many friends.

It was a good time! and I woke up today at 3pm to find that I was still wearing my costume from the night before... yay for comfortable halloween cosutmes! Also, yay for spanish weather; it is still warm enough here to be comfortable running around in the streets wearing shorts and a tshirt at night!

I have one confession to make though... My first post on this blog was regarding doing things that I said I would never do; and I have done it again. I used to say that I would NEVER buy McDonalds in a foreign country... but I did today. and it was good. it's true that mcdonalds fries are good. I blame my hangover for my weakend resolve.

Tomorrow I'm off to Scotland for a week, and then off to Seville the following week!! funfunfun!

those are pretty awesome costumes. also, since I'm behind on your blog, let me just say that Xavier Rudd concerts and FC Barcelona games sound like a GREAT way to spend some nights out.

Haha, that looks great. Sadly I did not dress up this year, though I really wanted to be a zombie T-rex. I hear that France has been celebrating Halloween less and less every year since 2002, because they want to distance themselves from a USian holiday. No guys! Don't throw out the baby with the bathwater! Costumes=rad!

Sadly I think Halloweed is dying here too. There are too many church groups throwing "Safe" Halloween's now. I guess I can understand why they're so popular, but there is still no substitute for running door to door and grabbing as much candy as possible.
