Katie visits!!
We returned from Lyon on Sunday night, our studio course started that Monday, and Katie came to visit me on Tuesday!! (this is me trying to make excuses for the belated blog posts)
I had fun catching up with my good old friend and showing her around this city which I somewhat call home now. It’s really fun to be able to revisit the places here that I have already marvelled at and share the first impressions with someone else! We went to the beach (it is still warm enough here to swim), we toured Sagrada Famillia, we hiked up to the top of Montjuic (the location of the 1992 Olympic games), and generally wandered. My recuperation diet meant that I couldn’t have pastries myself, but it was quite satisfying to buy one for Katie and watch her enjoy it!
The more I come back to Barcelona, the more it feels like ‘home’. Now that I have become the tourguide for someone else, I feel more relaxed in this city that formally kindof scared me with its unfamiliarity.
Katie went back to Glasgow last Friday morning, and I’m now planning my next adventures (Scotland, Seville, possibly Venice, a soccer match) and working on our studio project.
